☀️What a day! ☀️ The weather was PERFECT in the @whitstableumbrellacentre garden (not go-hide-in-a-fridge hot and not raining) and our rails were heaving under the weight of so many excellent pieces for women, men and children ♻️ The @gardencafe_whitstable was open and offering a delightful array of delicious treats, the @repair_cafe_whitstable was in full effect fixing and mending and the people of Whitstable came out to find a vintage and pre loved bargain in full force! The money we raised will go towards our storage costs, enabling us to continue supporting the people of East Kent and providing them with clean, high quality, useful clothing when they need it most. We’ve got an exciting date for your diaries 🥳 ... we are planning a mini summer popup, on Saturday 11th July, 9am – 2pm, in the gorgeous garden behind Whitstable Umbrella Community Centre. We are teaming up for this community event with the wonderful teams at Repair Cafe Whitstable , who will be running their monthly event inside between 10am - 1pm, and the Garden Cafe Whitstable Umbrella Community Centre #communitycollaborations #communitycollaborationconnection We are popping up in the garden with a lot of Vintage and Designer Preloved clothes and shoes. Women’s, Men’s and Childrenswear, in all the sizes and all at amazing low prices. The Garden Cafe will have the coffee machine on with cakes, ice cream on offer too. Why not arrange to meet a friend for a browse of our rails followed by a catch up over some cake and coffee in the garden? A perfect Saturday morning ☕️🌷🍩🍰🍨🍦🌿🍳🥐🌺🥪🥙🛍 We’re running this as a fundraising event for the Community Clothes Bank so 100% of what we sell at this pop up event goes towards the core costs of our project which is 100% volunteer led. Happy New Year everyone! 🥳 We are back after a two week restorative break and hitting the ground running with 2 requests from partner organisations covering clothes and shoes for 12 people 💪🙌 Seeing as it the end of the year we’ve crunched the numbers for 2025! One of our main aims at The Community Clothes Bank is to provide clothing that feels like a shopping experience, not a "hand out" of people's unwanted leftovers. We set up our client events like a pop-up shop, all clothes are freshly washed and presented on rails in size order. We have volunteers on hand to advise on style / size etc and our spaces are always light and welcoming, background music and a chat for anyone that needs it. We believe in dignity in choice for everyone, no matter at what stage of life you find yourself. Huge thanks to all those at @thehorsebridge for being such generous hosts for our first ever Family Clothing Swap that we held in the two galleries in January. Big thanks to all the volunteers and all those who came along and joined in, we hope you had as much fun as we did! 👏👏🤩😍🥰 As we are CCB, we were able to bring along extra clothing to make our swap totally size inclusive, which meant that everyone and every body had choice! @roomy.mkt and @thebigswapevents are also doing great work in this space👏🥰. #equalityinfashion #inclusionmatters Everything left over from the swap we’ve taken back to HQ to be sorted and organised into part of our stock. Another win win 🙌 As well as raising some much needed funds to continue our service across East Kent, it was another fun way to get together with our local community. Another thanks goes to @space_saver_storage for supporting us with storage space with a large discount. 💛 Oh and the kids absolutely loved the swap “What? I can choose whatever I want?!” We set up gallery 2 as a kidswear department and thanks to Katie, Lucia and Nico they had some expert advice on hand too 💚♻️.
